There are many open studio tours around the country, but the Santa Barbara Studio Artists provide one of, if not the best, open-studio experiences out there. In recent years, the open studio tour has gained national and international popularity, providing art collectors with a great opportunity to discover and purchase directly from renowned and rising artists.

Santa Barbara Studio Artists are excited to open their worlds the public for the 12th annual Open Studio Tours, which will take place Saturday and Sunday, August 24–25, throughout Santa Barbara County.  There are also some extra festivities planned for the 2013 tour, including a month-long preview exhibition and two special receptions.

During this tour, attendees are given the opportunity to meet more than 40 acclaimed artists, view their studios and buy one-of-a-kind pieces. This exciting weekend features an array of distinctive art ranging from landscape and contemporary to sculptures and mosaics.

What makes Santa Barbara Studio Artists distinctly different from other open studio tours is the prestige of the featured creatives. Membership for the Santa Barbara tour is juried, and participating artists are the experts in their fields, many featuring their work in collections around the world.

Art collectors and enthusiasts alike are encouraged to join and enjoy! “There is nothing like meeting face-to-face with the artists who create these pieces, and our tour artists are excited to welcome those who are seeking to appreciate the creative process,” says Barbara McIntyre, Santa Barbara Studio Artists board president.

Do not miss this rare opportunity to see into the minds and studios of great artists; you may leave with some totally new perspectives! This year’s tour will be especially fun with a Viva La Fiesta! preview exhibition party on August 1 and the official opening reception party on August 23.
