Just a few days ago, Hospice of Santa Barbara auctioned off a donated DW Drum signed by several rock ‘n’ roll stars on eBay. Profits from the sale of this generous gift will benefit the Hospice and its programs.

The item is indeed an amazing treasure for music fans and drum connoisseurs alike—the drum features autographs by Neil Peart (from Rush), Jim Keltner (who played with The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Crosby, Stills & Nash and Bob Dylan) and Doane Perry (who worked with Jethro Tull). Bidding began at $2,500, and four bids later, the drum was sold for $3,059.

With comprehensive (and free) programs ranging from professional counseling and care management services for children and adults suffering the effects of a life-threatening illness or grieving the death of a loved one, to collaborating with schools to work with students mourning a death, the auction will be a great help in keeping these wonderful programs at full running speed. And what an amazing addition to the lucky winner’s instrument collection!
