Hundred Palms Tucson, an independent- and assisted-living community, is holding a fan drive for local seniors in need.

Hundred Palms Tucson hopes to collect at least 100 new 14-inch or larger oscillating fans or new 20-inch box fans for the “100 Fans from 100 Palms” fan drive.

Drop off the fans any day from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the complex, 102 S. Sherwood Village Drive.

Financial donations also can be made, with checks payable to Hundred Palms Tucson. The money will be used to buy only fans.

In 2010, 250 fans were collected and distributed during the summer.

The drive runs through Aug. 31. For more information, call 298-9242.
