Foodbank of Santa Barbara County board of trustees recently added two new members — Narded Eguiluz and Wayne Elias.
Eguiluz is currently the distribution center manager for Driscoll’s Santa Maria facility and a member of Driscoll’s Philanthropy Grants Committee.
He grew up in San Luis Obispo County, earned a bachelor of science degree in agribusiness from Cal Poly, then managed operations and worked in the fields for his family farm.
He subsequently moved to Santa Cruz to work for a leading horticulture company, overseeing the processing and distribution of flower bulbs, before returning to Santa Maria.
Elias currently serves as vice president at Farm Credit West, providing short-term farm operating loans, equipment leases and farmland mortgages to local growers, ranchers and vineyard operators.
He earned a bachelor of science degree in agriculture from Cal State, Chico, with a focus in business management.
A 25-year resident of the Santa Maria Valley, he received the Santa Maria Noontime Kiwanis Club Member of the Year Award for his volunteer work and fundraising efforts.
He also has served as a Boy Scouts leader.
