Humane Society trains for animal rescue weekly

Horse rescues don’t happen very often, but when they do the Santa Barbara Humane Society intends to be prepared.

The Society has its own Emergency Animal Rescue Team that trains on Tuesday.

This week team members hoisted a replica horse nicknamed spot.

They also pulled the horse up a steep ravine off Ribera Drive with the help of a pulley system.

They also had a stuffed animal dog that sits up named Pedro, but they are looking for a stuffed animal dog that is standing so they can similate dog rescues too.

The team is sending two people to Prague for an international training next month.

Donations are welcome to support the team at
