A Central Coast healthcare organization is trying to help locals understand the Affordable Care Act.

On Monday, CenCal Health is holding a seminar called “What Doctors/Providers Need to Know.”

The free seminar will go over what the Affordable Care Act is and why it was enacted. It will also go over healthcare programs, including Medi-Cal expansion, the Bridge Plan, Covered California, and Healthy Kids. Speakers will explain how the Affordable Care Act will impact current healthcare providers.

CenCal Health experts will be speaking, and guests can talk to representatives from the Department of Social Services, Santa Barbara County Public Health, Mental Health, and Community Health Centers. Overall, 75 healthcare providers and staff members have signed up for the seminar.

The seminar is being held at San Luis Obispo Embassy Suites, which is located at 333 Madonna Road. It starts at 12:30 p.m.
