From now until January 6, local wineries, tasting rooms and vineyard management companies are collaborating to help raise awareness and funds for Foodbank of Santa Barbara County. Participating businesses will each have a different fundraiser to take part in “Food from the Vine.”
The goal for each participating business is to raise $1,000 from its own unique fundraiser, such as donating proceeds from wine sales. The total campaign goal is to reach $100,000. The fundraiser gives businesses a chance to have fun and be competitive by seeing who can raise the most money for this great cause.
Leslie Mead Renaud, director of winemaking for Lincourt Vineyards and Foley Estate Winery, and Clarissa Nagy, winemaker at Nagy Wines and consulting winemaker at Riverbench Vineyard and Winery, began the campaign to support the Foodbank, with the help of Emily Einolander of Ampelos Cellars.
Foodbank works to eliminate hunger by providing food, education and many other resources for those in need.
