CLL will provide the community with a comprehensive and vibrant program of very affordable classes, workshops and seminars for adults, families and older adults. Pictured is a Ukulele class of students.

The grand opening of the Center for Lifelong Learning (CLL), which launches this fall as a new Santa Barbara City College (SBCC) program, will be held from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, at the Wake Campus, 300 North Turnpike Road, Santa Barbara. The opening ceremony will begin at 1:30 p.m. and the public is invited to attend.

The day’s events will include drawings for free classes and other fun prizes as well as the opportunity to sign up for classes on the spot, and activities for families. The prize drawings for free classes will be held at 1:30 and 3:15 p.m.

CLL will provide the community with a comprehensive and vibrant program of affordable classes, workshops and seminars for adults, families and older adults. Classes will be offered in a wide range of areas including Arts & Crafts, Computers, Culinary, Current Events, Do-it-yourself, Fitness, Genealogy, Health, Home & Garden, Languages, Literature, Parent Education, Performing Arts, Psychology & Spirituality and Science & Nature.

Learn about the fall term schedule, meet CLL instructors, enjoy demonstrations and participate in mini-classes, view examples of student work, connect with other members of the community with shared interests and enjoy high quality entertainment and refreshments.
