Women’s Economic Ventures (WEV) recently hosted a trolley tour of WEV client businesses based in downtown Ventura. Business owners and businesses included: Kelly Briglio and Tina Lebar of Paradise Pantry, Jennifer Livia and Phyllis Gubins of Red Brick Gallery, Lupe Lane of Summer Loves Trading Co., Breena Maggio of Body Education Alignment Center for Health (B.E.A.C.H.), Cory Pironti of Dandyline Designs and Roylin Downs of Kama Sutra Closet & Lingerie.

These businesses together have created job opportunities for 13 full-time employees and 29 part time employees in addition to providing a livelihood for the WEV client owners themselves.

The group of business owners participated in WEV programs such as Self-Employment Training (SET), Business Plan Intensive (BPI), Thrive in Five and WEV’s Small Business Loan Fund to help initiate and grow their businesses into what they are today.

Special thanks to major sponsors, Rabobank and Bank of America for their support. All donations from the event went directly to WEV programs.

The next WEV business training courses begin early 2014. Those interested in learning more can attend an upcoming free one hour orientation:

Wednesday, December 4th, 6-7pm, Ventura

Monday, December 9th, 6-7 pm, Oxnard

Tuesday, December 10th, 6-7pm, Thousand Oaks
